In
September 2006 a close link that we had with
the PACE Centre in Aylesbury was further strengthened when we
jointly opened the county provision for secondary aged pupils
requiring a conductive approach to their education.
Currently
6 boys follow a Conductive Education programme in conjunction with
Sensory Integration therapy alongside
our pupils with access to elements of our “Skills
for Life” curriculum as appropriate to their needs. This is a very
successful and innovative development that we are looking to build on
in the future.
Conductive Education is a complete system of special education for
children and adults with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy. It is
a personality-centred education which recognises the person as a whole
and therefore helps them to develop intellectual, emotional, social
and physical abilities.
