The Main School
Department at Heritage House School caters for pupils with severe learning difficulties
and complex needs between the ages of seven and fourteen. The pupils continue to follow
our Skills for Life
curriculum.
Many pupils have additional support allocated and follow very
individualised timetables, which ensure their special educational needs are met.
The
children in the Main School Department have access to a range of specialist resources
including an art room, an ICT room, a sensory room, hydrotherapy pool, and food technology
room and specialist music provision.
As pupils progress through the school the focus is on teaching them to acquire skills with increased independence. For some pupils this will be teaching them the skills to make choices about their own needs and preferences. For other pupils teaching them to make simple snacks or use community facilities will be relevant within their lives.
