At the age of 14 pupils will move into our Extended Education
Department. Pupils continue to follow our Skills for Life
curriculum but with increasing amounts of time applying skills into real life situations.
The pupils cook lunch for themselves and their friends each day after practicing their
planning, shopping and money skills.
The pupils also follow key skills courses
accredited through ASDAN and can
leave school at nineteen with a nationally recognised qualification.
Pupils in our Extended Education department will be invited to participate in a
residential visit for a week. This is a highly valuable experience, which allows us to
assess pupils abilities and skills in real life settings over the extended day. In
recent years we have visited Centre Parcs, PGL Activity Centers, France, Holland and
Japan.
